狂犬病疫情讓人心惶惶，民眾在晚間騎車回家途中，遭鼬獾咬傷手腳；指揮中心今(18)日指出，15日台東遭鼬獾攻擊的民眾，已緊急施打狂犬疫苗和免疫球蛋白，而鼬獾屍體現送往家畜衛生試驗所檢驗中。
指揮中心說明，15日有位台東民眾遭鼬獾咬傷案，經疫調資料顯示，該民眾是晚間騎機車返家途中，遭鼬貛攻擊咬傷右手食指及右腳踝內側，隔日上午於醫院就診後，已施打狂犬病疫苗及免疫球蛋白，個案施打疫苗後無任何不適狀況，並預計在明(19)日前往施打第2次暴露後疫苗，而鼬獾屍體已於昨(17)日送往家畜衛生試驗所檢驗中。
指揮中心指出，昨(17)日檢測的5例動物樣材結果均為陰性，包括鼬獾4例及白鼻心1例。到目前為止，已檢測食肉目野生動物556例、其他野生動物273例、犬714例、貓49例及蝙蝠42例，除131例鼬獾、1例錢鼠及1例遭鼬獾咬傷後隔離期間檢出之犬隻確診感染狂犬病外，其餘皆未檢出狂犬病，案例發生地區為9縣市49鄉鎮，感染動物種類以鼬獾為主。
疫苗注射能有效預防狂犬病，指揮中心再次提醒，民眾務必遵守2不1要，不要棄養寵物，不要接觸及捕捉野生動物；如發現家中動物行為出現異常，例如停止吃喝、不安、頻尿、畏光或出現攻擊性等，應儘速通報各地動物防疫機關處理。
