中華代表團張銘煌8日上午在男子鉛球決賽中，表現不如預期，僅以19公尺19的成績拿到銅牌。沒能奪金，張銘煌感到自責，他自我調侃「就像一隻小老鼠在丟鉛球」。
另外，中華武術套路選手林芷妤在女子南拳、南刀全能項目中拿到銀牌，余芷瑄則在女子長拳獲銅牌，因此至8日中午為止，中華代表團共拿到4金4銀5銅。
這是張銘煌第4次參加東亞運，先前他在亞洲田徑錦標賽拿到銀牌，賽前奪金呼聲高，張銘煌第4次擲出19公尺19的成績，一度躍居第一，不過中國大陸選手王廣甫第5次試擲擲出19公34，王立克則是擲出19公尺21，他們2人都超越張銘煌的成績，分獲金牌及銀牌。
張銘煌說他的狀況很好，身體狀況也非常好，但就是技術層面沒有做好，他形容自己像是「一隻小老鼠在丟鉛球」，可見他很不滿意自己的表現，而且對於只丟出19公尺19的成績，張銘煌感到意外。 (接下一頁)
