台中市鐵砧山風景區內，具有台灣人群起抗日的標誌「江山萬里」石碑及石敢當， 主要觀光景點之一，可惜缺乏管理，去年整修，今年道路就發生殘破，且碑內池內長滿綠藻，遊客絕跡，台中市民宿協會監事莊金土批抨市府管理不善。
莊金土表示；多年來遊客到鐵砧山風景區觀光，僅看看山內的劍井、鄭成功石像、 中正公園及太陽之門等建設。而日據時期，台灣勇於抗日的一群英雄，所遺留下來的石敢當及江山萬里石碑卻乏人問津，嚴重影響該山的觀光事業發展。
為此去年市府耗資巨額經費把道路及景點重新修一番，明媚的周圍山景環境確呈現優靜，美不勝收，可惜整修後卻未能加以管理，導致山坡路殘破，江山萬里池內生藻而呈墨綠色的水質，讓遊客直呼「可惜」，市府花錢卻不珍惜這麼有歷史價值建設。
老一輩人士說起萬里江山石碑，都會說這是台灣人不願做亡國奴的標誌。起源於日據時代，台灣的生活困苦，抗日群起，台中縣鐵砧山上成為抗日據點之一，當時有志之士在山中拾獲一粒如人身蛋型的石頭，經調刻成人頭後成為精神連絡標誌「石敢當」。
正巧山內另有有一塊石碑署名「觀自在」者寫抗日自會成功的（江山萬里）石碑一座，碑文刻著江山萬里四個大字，寓意台灣古諺；江山萬里一點願，亦即大丈夫甘心情願者，即使重比河山、也可相讓，反之不心願者，雖輕即草芥，亦要爭還；所謂山海之固在德，台灣光復必不遠。不久後果然抗日勝利，台灣脫離日本統制，石敢當、江山萬里也就被移至外埔鄉區段處，長久來吸引不少遊客前往瞻仰，更令當時抗日團體人士的緬懷。
